Magic Unit Converter

 

Conversions are a nightmare. More often than not, there are too many of them and too little time to do them. In any scientific setting, conversion between different SI units for volume, mass, temperature etc. are essential. They need to be done fast and error free. This feature offers a user friendly and rather simple platform for converting values efficiently from a wide range of units. The converters which will be included are the following:

 

·  Volume Converter:- conversions from femto-litre to giga-litre 

·  Mass Converter:- conversions from femto-grams to giga-grams 

·  Temperature Converter:- conversions between Kelvin and Celsius/Fahrenheit 

·  RPM to RCF Converter:- conversions between RPM and RCF*

 

*This sub-feature is required while working with different centrifuges. Most centrifuges give the option to select the RPM at which the rotations will happen. However most scientific protocols outline the RCF at which a particular sample needs to be centrifuged. This leads to a certain amount of confusion during the experiment. This conversion is specific to the kind of rotor and centrifuge used for the experiment; hence it is not a simple calculation. There are online converters using which the user can select the type of rotor available to him and then convert the required RCF into RPM. The aim of this application is to bring this convenience to the smart phone.
